I think I just finished building my first PC, and I'm about to go ballistic. It wasn't fun.
I have 4GB memory, e2180, and a 6200LE PCI-E graphics card, and a floppy drive. Got into the Bios and have the boot sequence as follow: floppy, cdrom, HD. I do not have an OS installed. Bios did recognize my 300GB HD. Bios version is 15.
My floppy has the following files on it:
IO.SYS, MSDOS.SYS and COMMAND.COM.
Awdflash.exe, Abitfae.bat, Runme.bat and the BIOS .bin file
What will happen when I boot from the floppy? Do I have to flash the bios then? Can I escape out of that screen? How? I want to check to make sure my floppy drive is working first. Should I install XP on the hard drive before flashing?

Thanks

That floppy sounds like it automatically run the BIOS flash file.
You have BIOS 15 ... What version is on the Floppy ? ? Do you
need to update it for a specific reason ? ?

If there is no autoexec.bat file on it, the floppy should boot into DOS without doing anything else (unless you type in a command, such as runme.bat). You could then just shut down the rig after your test.
