1. Make a startup disk, or format a floppy with "copy system files" selected.
2. Download the flash utility (awdflash.exe) and the actual BIOS file from Abit's website.
3. Unzip the BIOS, and copy the BIOS and awdflash to the floppy disk. Make sure that you write down the name of the BIOS file EXACTLY as it is named, underline included.
4. Restart your computer with the floppy in. When BIOS begins to post, and you see your floppy drive beginning to seek, hit F5. This ensures a pure DOS environment.
5. At an A prompt, type AWDFLASH.EXE. Follow on screen instructions, and when prompted, enter the name of the BIOS bin file (the one that you wrote down).
6. BIOS should flash, and you will see message "BIOS updated successfully" (or something similar) when completed. Shut down, get back into BIOS and load defaults. Restart again, and load your own settings.
Follow these instructions exactly, and you should have no problems. NOTE: If you lose power to your computer anytime during the actual flashing process, you are screwed! It will require a new BIOS chip from your motherboard manufacturer if this happens.
If I missed anything, I am sure others will correct me. Ther is also a good flashing guide at
