ummm, a 5900XT is identical to a 5900. it just has 2.8ns ram instead of 2.2

if you mean can a 5900XT be flashed to a 5900 ultra or 5950, 2.8ns ram cannot handle that kind of speed

if you want some extra performance out of your card, stick a vga silencer on and go for the overclock!

I wouldn't flash it, as there's really nothing to gain, and you may even loosen the XT's memory timings (thus make it slower).

Flash for what? 0.975% more GPU speed, and 21% RAM?
Why not just get the Gainward (850), Albatron (800) or Leadtek (900) 5900XT and be done?

My MSI can handle 5900 Ultra levels. I dont know how because that far exceeds the 2.8 or 2.5ns memory. But i have ran it at that using riva tuner as coolbits keeps screwing around with everything, and it ran fine, except the little tiney fact that i had some image distortion here and there, but hey no worries. I suppose if i got some RAM sinks and found a decent 5900U BIOS i might be able to make it run that high. But for right now i just keep it at 450 800.
