Uninstall Nero and reinstall it, if that doesn't help which I hope it will, then reinstall windows, but just reinstalling Nero I think can help solving the problem

Good question . . . is it worth it to "upgrade" to 48x from 40x (I have a TDK/Lite-ON 40x)?

Any "real" improvement?

unless you have a band and need to make like 500 copies

then 10seconds x 500 cds = alot of time saved

i just wanted to say i have a 48x burner ;)

thanks

Over 500 CDs that's LESS than 1-1/2 hours of time "savings". I think there would be other factors (like exhaustion) in creating 500 CDs (plus you'll need more expensive media). I think I will keep my burner "stock". Thanks.

i burned a cdr at 40x which was my stock speed b4 i did the firmware upgrade

40x = 3:29 seconds
48x = 3:03 seconds <-- this was done after the firmware to the 48x speed..

Im using 5.5.9.0 right now.....get it....it adds support for faster and newer drives than the 5.5.7.8.

I'm running 5.5.9.0 right now. I was also thinking of flashing my Lite-On 40x to a 48x, but it would suck to botch this flash and have yet another pricey paperweight laying around! I've found like 3 (from cdrinfo.com) different flashes for my CDRW (40125s?), I'm not sure of which one to use?
