FlashDrop: Easily archive your Flash memory cards

My latest little app:

Basically - insert your memory card, drop the icon onto the FlashDrop app icon, and wait for it to archive into an ISO file (saves it to the desktop as "Archive.iso", which you can then rename). This way you can dump your memory cards to virtual disks and have a 1:1 clone. Works for anything with a folder structure, so you can clone USB sticks and folders too.

Handy way of preserving your Flash memory cards while everything intact.

Off topic, but since you're a developer and have some familiarity with flash drives I think you might be able to help.

When transferring a set of files from OS X to a flash drive, I believe it is *nix convention to make additional files that end with .0 (or something similar). They are empty/useless files (though I'm sure *nix has a purpose for them?) that often befuddle other devices (picture frame viewers, etc...) that then try and operate on these crazy files.

Is there any elegant way around this? I've tried a few apps that transfer to your flash drive, but I would like something more on the OS level. I didn't like that bluesomethingorother preference add on and am getting tired of going into terminal and manually removing these things.
