I'm sure the Apple legal team is already responding to silence this infestation. Of course, by infestation I mean ARS Technica for publishing the obviously false report.

Can the blame be laid on Apple for delaying an update that came out two months ago?

I think they are partly to blame, if the update was not released when it was available!!

If Apple was as pro-active about fixing the flaw as Oracle was when it updated their software about a month before Apple applied the fix then this talk of underlying agendas wouldn't even be necessary...
