Flash with Vertex 2 Firmware?

Hey everyone,

I just bought a Microcenter branded ADATA S599, a SF-1222 based 64GB SSD. I was wondering if it is possible to flash this drive with any other manu's firmware? For some reason I'm seeing 64MB/s write speeds on CrystalDiskMark for sequential write (though normal seq. reads...200MB/s)

ATTO shows normal performance. In the I/O comparison, I get around 200MB/s read and write speeds above 64KB test size (64KB is 150MB/s for w &r , 128KB is ~180 for both, 256KB is ~200MB/s for both) .

Do these results look normal? I'm seeing Vertex 2 getting much higher write speeds on the sequential test in Crystal, but about the same in ATTO (both for sequential). My random read and writes look totally normal for SF-1200 (in Crystal about 20MB's for random 4k read and 40 for random 4k write).

New SSD owner, so sorry for the noob questions, searched google before posting this.

Probably not a good idea.

It is unlikely the components besides the controller , layout and integration is the same.
The firmware is just a program residing on the device, and if it is trying to push data around circuits that are different, or don't exist, nothing is going to happen ..
