I have the latest version of flash player, both computers are windows 7 - 64 bit version. Both have IE 8, both show the add on as enabled. On one computer, i downloaded IE9 for a couple of days, and then decided to go back to IE8. Since going back to IE8, flash shows as installed and appears to work on the adobe page but does not work on the disney.go.com page. I used the flash uninstaller, and then re-installed several times. Didn't help. Any ideas?

what happens when you go to the page? Do you get an empty box where the flash should be? or do you generate an error message?

I had a problem with a friend's computer. He has multiple user accounts under XP. Well, he switched users to the Admin account (still logged on under his limited user account), and tried to update flash. The installer tried to uninstall, but hung, because it was still in use in the user account.

To make a long story short, it completely FSCKED UP the file associations in the registry for the mime types and stuff that Flash uses with IE.

No amount of flash player uninstall/re-install would fix this.

He has since switched to using Firefox. No longer (cannot) use IE.

So I think something similar must have happened to OP's computer.

Short of a complete re-format, I have no idea how to fix it.

There's no way to perform a full uninstall and re-install of just IE in Windows, thanks to Microsoft's crappy "integration" of IE into the OS.
