Just installed Win8, getting to grips with it.
I notice that in the control panel there is a "Flash Player Settings Manager".
It seems Adobe wrote the software, but it comes with the OS, and I cannot see it in "Add or remove programs" or in "turn Windows features on or off". Is this part of the OS, or is it an application? Can it be uninstalled?
There are three options in the control panel for updates:
1. Allow Adobe to install updates
2. Notify me to install updates
3. Never check for updates
Previously I avoided installing Adobe Flash because of the annoying updates, keeping giving notifications, even on a standard user account which is not authorized to update the software.
If I select 1, will updates go through automatically, not requiring approval by an administrator, just like updates to Windows and MS software?
Basically I don't want to have software on the system that may ask for administrator approval, since the system is only going to be administered a couple of times a year.
