Flash player archived versions

From my rants in these two threads, it is obvious that i have some issues with the crashes caused by the flash player plug in.

I will follow the recommendations of another opera user :

Adobe's new Flash Player hardware acceleration has been a big problem for many users across all browsers and operating systems over the last several versions of Flash Player, starting with v10.2. Videos controls (e.g., Pause and Seek functions) are among the most commonly identified problems. The three main things to try (in increasing order of hassle) are:

(1) Disable Flash Player video acceleration (Right-click on the Flash Player application on any website (e.g., YouTube), choose "Settings" from the right-click context menu, and un-check "Enable hardware acceleration")

(2) Install the most recent version of Flash Player. If that doesn't work, revert to the last one that was working properly on your system. As I understand it, Flash Player version numbering for Mac is slightly different than Windows, so you'll probably have to adapt some of the following specifics to the Mac version numbering and search for the right downloads. On Windows, reverting to v10.2.152.26 was nearly always the best solution 1-2 months ago (and I am still using that version), but some had to go back to 10.1.102.64. Since then some have been successful with more recent versions. You can download earlier versions from Adobe in a larger archive with multiple versions, but it is easier to download individual versions from FileHippo or OldApps.com.

For Windows, FileHippo currently has v10.3.181.5 RC 1 as the most recent version, but has numerous previous versions in the right margin (however, a month ago the FileHippo link to v10.2.152.26 was actually downloading v10.2.152.32 which was probably the version that caused the most problems). Here is an OldApps.com link to v10.2.152.26 for Windows. Some users have had to go back to the last v10.1 release (v10.1.102.64) which you can download
from FileHippo here (again, for Windows).

If you do decide to revert to an earlier version, uninstalling your current version with Adobe's Flash Player Uninstaller is recommended before installing
an earlier version.

(3) Check for updated graphics card video drivers. New drivers are being released to improve functionality and resolve problems with the Flash Player hardware acceleration.

I searched around a bit and i found this website from adobe where the archived versions from the flash player can be found.

http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html#main_Archived_versions

Since i do not want to use a to old version becauseof security reasons, i will try this version :
(Released 9/21/2011) Flash Player 10.3.183.10 (80.5 MB)
Although i am fond of the beauty of women, i do not care for porn sites.
Thus i am relatively save from flash content hiding a payload.
Also, virus scanners and a software firewall( with a file change detection and intrusion detection) have advantages.
I will post about the stability when the trial is complete.

The bolded one should be used for opera and firefox users.
I just installed it and do not experience any slow downs or buttons in flash player content that refuse the respond.
It is preliminary to be happy, but this solution seems to work for me.
Opera (11.62) does not slow down any more while enabling the flash plugin and having multiple sites open with flash content... I am even playing multiple youtube video's.

It sounds horrible with 5 youtube video's playing music video's at the same time and 7 web pages open with commercials and flash player content. It does not crash, but typing is slow. But opera remains responsive. No crashes, just the typing is a bit slow. But no odd behavior. I think this is going to work.
I am even posting this post and editing this post during the 5 video play back and 7 webpages open.
Every time a youtube video finishes, typing is faster. 3 video's at the same time seems to be maximum before typing is affected.

i'd day say something is wrong with your system. using the latest version of opera (11.62 i believe) as well as the latest flash.

just played 5 different movies on youtube simultaneously and opera's cpu usage hovered between 6-12%.

for reference, my cpu is an old core 2 duo 6300.

Well, maybe it is. But only in this special case. Because it is rock stable and cpu usage hovers non stop around. Perhaps there is an issue with the video drivers.
I never have had any issues with my gfx. Played a lot games too(not myself). Rock stable. No crashes. Perhaps this is the exception for me. Flash player. But i have reverted back to Flash Player 10,3,183,10. With hardware acceleration enabled. I have not yet experienced any trouble or crash up to this moment of posting.

Filehippo.com

I prefer adobe to download from in this specific situation. Third parties websites are not always a good idea. Hash codes should be supplied to be sure.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cryptographic_hash_function

A cryptographic hash function is a hash function, that is, an algorithm that takes an arbitrary block of data and returns a fixed-size bit string, the (cryptographic) hash value, such that an (accidental or intentional) change to the data will (with very high probability) change the hash value.

Flash has been crashing for me for well over a year. I've gone through formats and clean installs, multiple browsers including firefox, chrome, opera, and none have seemed to work. :\

With opera :
Click the checkbox : [Enable plugins on demand only]
Can be found under : Tools, preferences, content.
(Note that this also seem to help preventing for at least some annoying flash commercials.)

After that, the best way then is to disable hardware acceleration first.
On the flash video you want to watch, right click for settings and disable hardware acceleration.
If that does not help, try the same flash version i have.
If that does not help, try to find out if it is your gfx driver.
I have not yet experienced any crash at all since i reverted back to Flash Player 10,3,183,10. No more buttons that refuse to respond. No more random crashes.
Note that i also do not overclock.
