Flash Player 9 not working

GoingUp

Lifer
Anyone else having a problem with their Flash player lately?

I can't view content on ESPN or CNN.com. It tells me that my player version is 0. Clearly the sites are doing some sort of version check on the flash player. When I goto Adobe's site, it installs the latest version of Flash 9. I can view some of my personal Flash sites, but it appears any ones that do version checks won't work for me.

Anyone else run into this problem at all?

Yes, I was visiting a123systems.com last night and kept being told I needed flash. It sent me to macromedia, I downloaded and yet over and over the site said I needed flash and macromedia said I had the msot recent version. Today a123 is working again, though.

Yes, I certainly have had troubles with it. Flash Player 9 is having all sorts of issues. Do you have the latest version installed? Before I downloaded it I was getting kicked off the internet back to my desktop all the time. Now only occasionally.

I had the same problem. I traced my steps and found out that the last thing I installed was Microsoft Silverlight. (go figure)

I uninstalled Silverlight and reinstalled flash from Adobe - all is well with the Internet again!

Best of luck,
~Travis

Yea, I haven't installed that at all. I don't know what the deal is. I have the latest and greatest version.

I seem to remember an issue with the latest version and the activex upgrade installer with IE7, does the same website work with the mozilla version of flash? One fix that's worth trying is the full offline installer as this have resolved many of the issues I've experienced in my company.
