I guess the title says it all.... Is there any flash based MP3 player that has the ability to record directly to MP3? Most of the ones that have the recording ability (either with built in microphone or line-in) do it to proprietary high compression formats..... so recording from FM (if the player is FM capable) yields a low quality file... closer to voice recording rather than music.......

Do hard disk based MP3 players record to MP3 directly?

Thanks

Look here.

You want iFP-3XX or iFP-5XX - both can record to mp3 from line-in, internal mic or FM tuner.

iFP-1XX record to a specific .REC format which then can be converted to .wav on your pc.

iHP-100/120 and iGP have mp3 recording as well (but no radio recording, though they have a radio).

Oh and there are other players that can record to mp3 or wma.

And I'm not sure if those two last HDD players (iHP and iGP) record to mp3 or .wav, anyway it is high quality.
