Arab Spring is coming to America. Soon world governments will be asking each other to liberalize. No modern societies will survive the information revolution. People aren't going to sit by when they begin to learn and understand what is happening to them via their cell phones and music. Rage is just karma come round.

ROFLMAO!

Arab Spring is coming to America

Do you have any idea what this so called Arab Spring is? Well, it's not what you think it is. It's the muslims radicals doing their utmost to overthrow all civil governments in favor of islamic governments styled on that of Iran, i.e., with the mullahs running the show in the name of allah.

What's really frustrating is that it's been proven that harsh enough punishments, applied consistently, can nearly eliminate crime in a modern society. Take a look at Singapore. I've known women who lived there and said they'd feel absolutely comfortable walking around alone at 3 AM. Western society has become too squeamish to punish criminals with sufficient brutality though, so this is the crap we get.
System needs tweaking. Should come down like a hammer on adults breaking laws but only the right ones. That means stop giving long convictions for having a few grams of weed on you but if this is your second DUI In a year you are now fvcked and will really regret it. Or you assault somebody on the street you're done for.
Same here. Don't get me wrong, there are thuggish white guys I'd avoid as well, but I live in Baltimore and the statistics are pretty clear about who's committing most of the crime around here...
Exactly. Everyone is like this, though many don't want to admit it because they don't want to be seen as racist, but it's simply common sense.

No Future, they know it and they are pissed.

How about finding a job? Nah, too difficult.
How about taking advantage of free eduction/college/trade schools to get a nice job? Nah, too difficult

Running around assaulting with grave bodily injury to people? Hey! That's fun! What possible bad consequences can come from it!

I don't see why the popo don't open fire into these groups with rubber bullets? We are granted the right to peacefully assemble, but these are NOT peaceful. Riots / violent "protests" should be squashed immediatly with force. these kids KNOW what they are doing is wrong, and they should know there are consequenes for things in life.... taking a rubber bullet to the chest is a good way to get a message accross.

They strike suddenly and without warning and then disperse just as quickly in every direction. Not sure how the police can respond to some of these flash mobs.

Do we have the "full of excuses" platoon members here yet? They are going to tell us that things are not so bad about flash mob violent and that were not their fault and how racists are keeping these poor folks down for all those years and how ghetto people are all doing it, no big deal.

What kind of idiots are in the police force and DAs in Philly? They're organizing the violent flash mobs on facebook. NOTHING on facebook is "secret" - find out who is organizing it - do a little *investigating*, and throw the fucking book at those responsible for organizing these things. Inciting a riot. 5-10 years in prison or whatever that earns. Hefty fine. Make an example out of them. But, instead, it's "oh no, we've got to react and make new rules, because we're too stupid to investigate."

They should be shot simply for corrupting the original concept of "flash mob".

That's one of the reasons that the police had so much trouble controlling things in the UK.

Groups of thugs can easily organise using mobile messenger apps (think it was BBM in the UK) and the police end up just reacting to the problem after the main troublemakers have left the area.

Why is everyone so up in arms about this? They feel cheated and abused, so they're voicing their opinion. Hopefully, now, everyone will all listen.

Wow. Honestly the fact that more and more people think like Nick is scary. I'd consider moving else where but the entire world is basically crazy these days.

Fully agree. The War on Drugs is a failure and I think that addiction should be dealt with as an illness, not a crime (unless you're committing crimes to support your addiction), but we also ought to have sharia-like punishments for violent felons.

yup, because social programs teach us the value of hard work.

They do indeed - maybe you should find some that actually do what you claim don't. You just assume whatever your capitalist overlords tell you to be true; "they" don't want to work, "they" want to be supported for the rest of their lives".

Plus, just to stay on topic, social programs also help prevent and stop TEH FLASH MOBZ, as well as improve the quality of life for troubled neighborhoods and it's residents:

EARLY CHILDHOOD
Top Tier Nurse-Family Partnership (A nurse home visitation program for low-income, pregnant women): Randomized controlled trials show major impact on life outcomes of the mothers and their children.
Near Top Tier Triple P System (A system of parenting programs for families with children age 0-8): Randomized controlled trial of the full system as implemented county-wide shows sizable reductions in child maltreatment and foster care placements.
Abecedarian Project (High-quality child care/preschool for children from disadvantaged backgrounds): Randomized controlled trial shows major impact on educational and life outcomes; we note, however, that this was a demonstration project, and it is not yet known if the results can be replicated on a broader scale in typical classroom settings.
Perry Preschool Project (High-quality preschool for children from disadvantaged backgrounds): Randomized controlled trial shows major impact on educational and life outcomes; we note, however, that this was a demonstration project, and it is not yet known if the results can be replicated on a broader scale in typical classroom settings.
Review of the Evidence: Do Early Childhood Intervention Programs Really Work?

EDUCATION (K-12)
Top TierCareer Academies (Small learning communities in low-income high schools, offering academic and career/technical courses as well as workplace opportunities): Randomized controlled trial shows a sizable positive impact on earnings of participants eight years after their scheduled high school graduation.
Top Tier Success for All (A school-wide reform program, primarily for high-poverty elementary schools, with a strong emphasis on reading instruction): Randomized controlled trial shows positive impact in raising school-wide reading achievement in grades K-2.
Near Top Tier First Grade Classroom Prevention Program (Program that combines a classroom management strategy – the Good Behavior Game – with an enhanced academic curriculum): Randomized controlled trial shows a sizable reduction in substance use, and sizable increases in high school graduation and college enrollment rates.
Near Top Tier Promise Academy Charter Middle School (A charter middle school in New York City, serving mainly low-income, minority students): Randomized controlled trial shows a sizeable increase in math and English language arts achievement over a three year period.
Check and Connect (Dropout prevention program for high school students with learning, emotional, and/or behavioral disabilities): Randomized controlled trials show a sizable decrease in students’ dropout rates, and increase in attendance and academic credits earned.
SMART – Start Making a Reader Today (Volunteer reading tutoring program for at-risk readers in early elementary school): Randomized controlled trial shows this low-cost intervention has sizable positive impact on students’ reading ability.
Tutoring with the Lindamood Phonemic Sequencing reading curriculum (An intervention for at-risk readers in grades K-2): Randomized controlled trial shows sizable positive impacts on reading ability for students with poor phonological processing (e.g., letter naming, and awareness of the sounds within words).

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT
Top Tier Carrera Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Program (A comprehensive, year-round youth development program for economically disadvantaged teens): Multi-site randomized controlled trial shows sizable reductions in teen pregnancy and births, and increases in high school graduation and college enrollment.
Big Brothers Big Sisters (Volunteer mentoring program for disadvantaged youth, ages 6-18): Randomized controlled trial shows sizable decrease in youths’ drug and alcohol use and violent behavior.

CRIME/VIOLENCE PREVENTION
Top Tier Multidimensional Treatment Foster Care(A foster care intervention for severely delinquent youths): Randomized controlled trials show sizable reductions in youths’ criminal activity.
Amity Prison Therapeutic Community (Provides counseling/decision-making skills to inmates with drug problems, to prepare them for re-entry into the community): Randomized controlled trial shows reduction in reincarceration rate, and increase in average time to reincarceration.
Multisystemic Therapy for Juvenile Offenders (A treatment targeting multiple factors linked to anti-social juvenile behavior): Randomized controlled trials show sizable decrease in criminal behavior by juvenile offenders, but effectiveness may depend critically (i) on close adherence to the intervention’s key features and (ii) population/setting in which it is implemented.

HEALTH CARE FINANCING AND DELIVERY
Top Tier Transitional Care Model (A nurse-led hospital discharge and home follow-up program for chronically ill older adults): Randomized controlled trials show major reductions in rehospitalizations and health care costs.

SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION AND TREATMENT
Top Tier LifeSkills Training (Middle school substance abuse prevention curriculum): Randomized controlled trials show sizable decrease in students’ substance abuse.
Top Tier Staying Free (A low-cost smoking cessation program for hospitalized smokers who are willing to make a quit attempt): Randomized controlled trials show sizable increase in confirmed abstinence from smoking one year after patient discharge from the hospital.

MENTAL HEALTH
Group Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (Depression prevention program for youth at elevated risk of serious depression): Randomized controlled trials show sizable effect in preventing clinical depression.

Ive got an idea. Set up "flash mob stings" with a fake ringleader. Once the mob comes out and affirms their intent, boom, arrest them all. Keep doing it until people figure it out, and make sure chris hansen is chosen to do the "oh shit" realization appearence just prior to the arrest.

Call the tv show " to catch a flash mobber"

ABC News Nightline just did a story tonight. I could not believe what I saw, gangs of criminals smiling and laughing while stealing/robbing c-stores/clothing stores and beating up people and fighting with other gangs on the streets.

The Mayor of Philly said "......you <the criminals> damage your own race" at a church. Preach on, Mayor.

The US needs a taste of what is going on in the UK.

We have guns. Our situation will not be as bad as the UK's.
First time somebody tries this shit in a 2nd Amendment-loving community they will find out just how whiny and emo they really are.

Then the feds move in and declare martial law.
Yup, it will get ugly. But it wont look like the UK situation at all. Different kind of mess entirely.
