Hey all,

My friend and I are trying to make credits (like, movie credits) for a little thing he's putting together. We'd like to do it in flash, especially since i (thought) I remembered how to use it. I had made movie credits like this in Flash before. But I've completely forgotten now.

We'd just like to put a black background and have names appear in white (either scrolling or appearing) like at the end of a movie. I really don't have the time to go through a 3 hr tutorial for 20secs of white text on black background.

My problems so far include: I hit F5 to select the next frame right? Well, when I change one frame, it changes all of them. How do I edit just one frame? Also, how do I save this and just view it in a window. Do I just save it as whatever.swf? And open it? Help is greatly appreciated!

From memory, no warranties. Also, YOU ARE IN WRONG FORUM grasshopper.

create initial frame ( prolly where text is offscreen on one side)
create end keyframe (where text is offscreen on other side)
create a motion tween between the two frames
set frame rate.
save.

Maybe you should just do something easier, make it an animated gif image with it displaying a set of credits for a few seconds and then switching to the next set.

Bahahaa.... easier than a simple motion tween? Such a small task doesn't exist... anyway.. yoda hit it on the head. Good luck. ;)

Stupid question time: OK, I want the black background for all frames obviously, and I want to create a motion tween for the white text. Problem(s) are: Can't create a black background for all frames. The "paint bucket" doesn't do anything, and unless I'm just remembering wrong, i could've sworn that's what I used to do. So, I would just manually paint the whole background black. I tried to create a motion tween for the white text I put on top of it, but it just wants to move the whole thing (black background AND text). In other words, it always selects EVERYTHING for the motion tween!

what version of flash are you using? In FMX, click on any empty space in the window, pull down the propert dialog, change the background color to black. Else, window->property inspector.

Whoops. Man, I've forgotten all this quickly! OK, I appreciate the help so far, but I'm still not quite there. I've got the background now. If you can break the motion tween thing to a stupid level you'll be my hero. ;)

OK, so I have the text just above the screen in frame 1. I want it to be at the bottom by frame 10. I select the text, hit insert->create motion tween. Then I hit frame 10, and press F5 to make a "set point" or whatever, right? ARgh....I don't really know, please help! I have to have this done by tomorrow! Thank you so much!

ok, from the beginning.
click on frame 1
make the first scene
click on frame 10
make the last frame/cell/ whatever you wanna call it -- it's the way the whole thing looks at the very end
right click in between frame 1 and 10 in the time line and select create motion tween or something to that effect.
Hit up the timeline property and change the fps to tweak speed.

That's it...you're done.

Hmm...i don't know what to tell ya, it's not working. :( Let's say I have the name at the top in frame one, right? I hit f5, it puts the dot thingy in there. I go to frame 10, put the name at the bottom of the screen, and hit f5, it puts the dot there. click somewhere in between (we'll say, 5) on the timeline, right click and say create motion tween.

It don't do nothing. ;) Maybe I should mention that when I click on frame 10, the name at the top is still there, same place as in frame one. If I just select it and move it, it moves it in frame 1, also. Basically, in alterations I make in any frame are being made in all frames. I think that's probably the issue. But maybe not. Sorry to be such a bother, but my friend's gonna be over in an hour or so...and we've got to finish this up...

start from the beginning in order.

click on frame 1 ... it should already be a keyframe
make first scene
click on 10th frame ... hit f5 or make a keyframe any other way you like
make second scene.
right click on 5th frame -> select create motion tween.

Right...that's what I was doing. I don't think you're quite understanding...when I click on frame 10, it still has everything where I left it in frame one. When I "make the second scene" I'm moving the stuff around, which does me no good because it's moving it around for all the frames (including frame 1). So, when I say motion tween, it just stays stagnant.
