1. Do not use Aflash.exe / EZflash /Afudos.exe to update BIOSV1007

2. Extract all the files into the floppy disk, and simply run P4C81007.exe under DOS mode, the BIOS update will execute automatically. Please refer to the readme file which is included in the zipfile to get the details of BIOS update procedure.

these instructions are all fine and well, but the problem is i don't know how to get into DOS from a "boot floppy" using XP Pro. the only way i know how to get into DOS is: Start/Run/cmd. can ANYONE help a poor struggling tech n00b out?

oh, and the "readme" is even more vague.

if it wouldn't be too much trouble, could someone plz walk me through this process? and what's the deal with ASUS-Update? it doesn't seem to work at all for me.

Head over to bootdisk.com and dowload the Dr. DOS 7 bootdisk file. Run that to create a floppy. Next, copy your BIOS to the same floppy. Now, change the boot order in your BIOS to boot off the floppy first. Restart the computer with the floppy in it, and then run your BIOS executable.

It'll give you a message that it flashed correctly. At that point, reboot the computer and it should show what BIOS version you're running. BTW, before flashing, select the "default settings" option (in your current BIOS) BEFORE flashing to the new BIOS.
