I am planning to us this ide to flash adapter:

I will use it with a 4 gig compact flash card from kingston or twinmos.

1. Anyone tried this before? Will it work at all? I want to boot xp from this device.

2. What is the performance of a flash drive?.. transferrates are pretty low (about 10 MB/sec) but seek times should be ok, right?

Any info is welcome!

Arghh! it seems as if a flash drive is NOT suitable for this because a flash card will be "worn out" quickly by all the reads and writes XP would make.

i would still apreciate any input from YOU. 😀
 
Just get a laptop drive. more space and silent. (well about 11db which you won't hear)
