Greetings,

i wonder, if anyone who has usb2.0 card reader/writer and some reasonably fast (60x+) flash card, could try benchmarking it's read/write speeds? The reason I'm asking for is, is that I have Trust 725 usb2.0 reader, and Transcend 80x SD 1gb card, which is supposed to give up to 12mb/s speeds, but i'm only getting like 5.5mb/s write and 6.5mb/s read speeds.. and i'm having hard time trying to figure out if it's my pc, my os, my reader, or my card.. :/

thanks for ANY help!

Hi, Remember, USB, a serial port, is rated in BITS per Second and not BYTES per Second as are parallel devices are. Jim

perhaps, but what has that got to do with this? 480Mb/s, usb2.0 theoretical max speed is still 60megabytes/s. 80x * 150kilobytes/s = 12megabytes/second. i am only getting 5.5/6.5 megabytes/second.

I think there's usually somekind overhead in the reader/writer itself, so it'll depend on the device too I guess.

yes, that's why i'm interested what speeds others are getting. i by no means am expecting 12mb/s, but something like 10 or at least 8 would be nice.
