Wonder how many of our fellow posters will have their TV bricks out?

Alright, raise you hands, we know you got 'em.

Where did you see this? I don't see any mention of this on the Meet the Press web site.

As much fun as that would be to watch, it is unbelievable. Bush never speaks to reporters; he doesn't answer to anyone but his buddies, remember?

Wow, if that is true....wow just wow. The President almost never speeks to reporters like that.

Why wouldn't he? What's the big deal? Do you think Russert is going to go in there and ask a bunch of really hard questions? As much as I like Meet the Press, Russert is an obvious conservative and the questions he asks the "left" are a lot more pointed, with a lot tougher follow up than those he asks the right.

I've been watching meet the press for a while and always think he asks some very tough questions to republicans and democrats alike; and he always tries to get some form of straight up answer from his guests.

But yea Bush would get owned.

Watching George Bush is like having your gall bladder removed without anesthesia.

Maybe they should interview Kerry for 5 minutes first to put us all in to sleep so it wont be so painful.

My sentiments exactly . . . with one caveat . . . there are some tough questions that Russert MUST ask of Bush. I'm sure Bush will have talking points but even a semi-competent, marginal partisan like Russert will make the semblance of an effort to produce a relevant interview.

Ultra " Do you think Russert is going to go in there and ask a bunch of really hard questions?"

Even if he doesn't ask tough questions, this is unbelievable. I think Bush is a perfectly nice man, but English is a second language. I notice that no one has yet posted a link to support the claim that he will be on MTP.

I'll watch. But not to see if Timmy throws anything besides softballs at Bush. I won't be holding my breath for any toughies about WMDs, or the release of his Guard records. The biggest reason I'll be tuning in is because I heard from a reliable source that Bush will expose one of his nipples. ;)

No, no, no. You were supposed to say, "expose one of his boobs". Then I was going to reply, "Rumsfeld or Asscroft?"

:)

Everything's a joke to you isn't it? I guess it doesn't take much to make a housewife smile.

I wonder if the questions will be approved ahead of time like they were on the Fox News interview.

Well, Timmy Boy is on the horns of a dilemma. If he lobs softballs to Le Prez, his credibility will fall and the interview will be written off by most folks as fluff. Make no mistake about it, he WILL be excoriated by his critics and he has plenty of them already.

On the other hand, if he interviews him the way he interviewed Dean then the President is going to crack like an egg on Sunday morning. Since Russert is an obvious right winger I suspect this won't be his approach.

Rather, I think he will ask some tough questions BUT he won't press him for REAL answers. Fluff will do.

So, my guess is the interview will be a boring campaign speech.

I'd rather not skip life for a Bush interview by a true believer. I'll do my 60 mile training ride on the Van Fleet Trail instead. :)

One thing is for sure, he'd better get out and start talking to the average american again. You know, bring himself down to our level for a minute.
