When I run flash video in full screen from something like hulu, the audio has noise. It seems to be more prevalent when there more action in the video.

Anything I can do to figure out what is causing this?

Using the following:
Intel Core 2 6420 2.13 GHz running at 3.4 GHz
Windows Server 2008 64 Bit
Nvidia GeForce 9400 GT
Asus P5B Deluxe
4 GB RAM

That's a good motherboard with some decent Analog Devices AD1988B onboard sound.

I see other people complaining about the crackling noise.

One problem could be that the audio frequency / bit rate of the streaming audio is too low or not properly supported by the SoundMAX. Do you have the latest drivers installed from

http://support.asus.com

The other issue could be that you don't have hardware acceleration properly configured in Windows Server 2008 which by default ships without graphic and audio acceleration enabled for "server" reliability reasons.

I had the latest drivers since they havent been updated since 2009. Any ideas where I need to verify that hardware acceleration is enabled?
