Flash 7.0 in Firefox - if install can I disable at will?

If I install macromedia Flashplayer 7.0 in Firefox will I have the option to turn it on and off?

I don't want to install it but need to do so in order to access french video news on the net.

Just loaded macromedia flash 7.0 but still can't play the french news. Drat, must have been mistaken in my reasoning that I neede flash installed.

Just incase anyones got any ideas on how to play these archived video in Firefox (played ok in IE) here's the address

This site has masses of advertising be warned!
.. which is a pitty since it obstructs the access to the archived TF1 french news programmes which my partner is using to help her with her studies.

This is partly why I've turned to Firefox, hopefully to give me more control of whats displayed - to seperate out content from ads.
