According to US News & World Report:

After the B'nai B'rith complained of his portrayal of Jews, D. W. Griffith cut the Jesus Story in the film "Intolerance" (1916) to 12 minutes in his three-hour epic film.

Only Caiaphas is guilty of Jesus's death in the Cecil B. DeMille film "The King of Kings" (1927), revised after it's release to satisfy Jewish groups.

People take Jesus way too seriously. Think about it... what do you think Jesus himself would have to say about all this now, 2000 years later? He'd probably tell everyone to lighten up.

Of course, you get this from... where (well, I can certainly take a guess... :p)?
Jesus isn't like your standard apathetic populace today.

What?

It's a fallacious portrayal of Jesus. Hence the eye roll.

And many Christians were protesting Last Temptation of Christ before they'd seen it.

I saw nothing blasphemous in the idea that one of the torments that he suffered was being shown the life he could have led as an ordinary man. Of course I'm an agnostic so I approached it without church-approved indoctrination :)

Hmmm...I wonder why? Oh yea, the same reason why people take Moses and Mohammed seriously: They are religious figures worshipped by millions.

All this Jesus hating on this board is getting redundant.

I think Jesus would tell the whole world to quit bitching and get along if you ask me, but then again he could be a total asshole and make everyone burn in hell because they screwed up a little bit of a movie about him.

I believe that in all three cases, if you could talk to each of these three men as people, forgetting for a moment that they are religious figures, they would probably be horrified...

I do not hate Jesus. I hate the idea of an organized Church.
