I picked up The Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots the other day and I can't stop listening! It is one of the best albulms to come out in a while, imo. I had never really listened to the Lips except for that Vasoline song, but after hearing such good reviews I decided to pick it up. This is what an albulm should be. It is not a collection of 11 different 3 - 5 min songs that don't relate to each other (or anything really), but rather a fully realized musical journey. It may seem weird, but just kick back and relax while you listen and enjoy yourself. I have been making hour long trips to college lately and this is the perfect CD for that. BUY IT NOW!!!!

Anywho, what other albulms/artists are at the top of your list at the moment? I am bored and I need to find something to listen to. :)

I like Thievery Corporation's Sounds from the Verve Hi-Fi (collection of remixed and remastered jazz/lounge cuts from back in the day.) Great album to listen to while puffing on my Ashtons.

If you think Yoshimi is great you'll go apeshit over their last album, The Soft Bulletin. TSB is more atmospheric, popish, symphonic, grand...just incredible stuff, one of the best albums of the new decade.

Yeah, I actually have heard a little of it, but there is no real music stores around here. All we have are Samgoody's and Wharehouse Music's which don't really carry good music. I was shocked I found Yoshimi, but there was no Soft Bulletin.
