It's about damn time we had two companies making cutting edge video cards to stimulate real debate in terms of which one has the best performance/price. ATI pretty much dominated since the 9700, which put down Nvidia which had dominated since the demise of 3dfx.
IMHO, the 6800gt wins this round in a landslide. Doom 3 runs great, HL2 should run as well as the x800, and most of the GT's overclock to Ultra speeds and higher.

It's fun for a while but then it gets really boring. I prefer to play games with my GPU rather than talk about on the web.

the fact that you said the 6800 GT wins by a landslide shows an incredible amount of fanboism in itself...

I agree, fanboys are the main reason why these lame threads start in the 1st place. IMHO, both crads are great. Both ATI and Nvidia have their strengths/weaknesses.

My gripe is that people argue over fps instead of the playability/enjoyment of the game. FPS DOESNT MATTER WHEN YOU'RE GETTING OWNED by someone with a much crappier comp. than yours ;)
