It is against the flag code to wear the flag as a form of clothing (shirt covered in stars and stripes, bandanas covered in stars and stripes, etc). It's against the flag code to wear the flag on your person (such as a flag patch sewn into clothing) for everyone except firefighters, police officers, or other members of higher government.

So, in a word, no.
Oh brother.

I'm going to go walk around with a flag shirt and pants, socks with a flag patch sewn in, a baseball cap with a flag on the front.

And I'll weild a torch made by wrapping a flag around a stick and dipping it in oil. And then lighting it on fire, of course.

😛

You do that.

Are you an anarchist or something? Maybe just an asshole? I happen to agree with the flag code. I don't LIKE seeing people burning my flag. I don't LIKE seeing people letting old shirts made of stars and stripes get all worn and ragged looking. I don't LIKE the fact that people don't hold the flag in high reguard. This is my opinion. Don't like it? Suck it!

Didn't Kid Rock wear a flag shirt thingy at the SuperBowl?

Apparently, some people got pissed off.

Super Bowl 2004, Janet Jackson's "costume malfunction" made international news; that same half-time show featured the wearing of an American flag by performer Kid Rock. He later removed the flag poncho and hurled it over his head. Section 8d. reads, "The flag should never be used as wearing apparel." Click picture for enlargement. Photo credit: Reuters

Oh, dude.. lol.. it was all tongue-in-cheek. I'd never do something like that.

I just found the idea of a "flag code" funny. I see people wearing american flag apparel all the time.. it's obviously not a big deal. If someone wants to show off their patriotic side, nobody is going to stop them from wearing a shirt with stars and stripes on it.

Patriotism does not require the wearing of the flag or the singing of the national anthem. I don't like seeing my flag burnt, worn as clothing that gets nasty and torn, etc.

no i had on a Orange Atari T shirt and blue cargo shorts today, as i drove my car for 9 hours across 4 states

was great fun

Meh, for the record, I didn't specifically mean wearing an image of the flag. I just meant the colors red, white, and blue together. If it happened to be a flag, then so be it.

Personally, I don't have a moral objection to clothes that feature the American flag; I just think they're really tacky. I don't mean t-shirts with a flag graphic on the chest, or a patch -- I mean those shirts and pants that are made to look like you're wearing an entire flag. Not too stylish. 😛

Who cares what you like or think is appropriate Nik? Let's see you ...and I think that about covers it. Frankly I couldn't give a good god damn if some idiot wants to to wear an American Flag as a diaper if they choose too. It's a form of free speech and if they choose to say they are a fscking Moron by doing so well fine be me. Of course I'll exercise my right to free speech by laughing at them.

it's not too bad, only about 18-20 blocks or so. Takes about 45 minutes to do the whole thing 🙂
