Florida moves to end all school vaccine mandates, first in nation to do so

"Florida Surgeon General Joseph A. Ladapo criticized school vaccine mandates, which every state has, and likened them to slavery.

So vaccines are now slavery?
Dude, WTF have you been huffing?

Wait 10 years and check the child mortality rate.
Your state may then be lower than Mississippi and Alabama.

Take a moment to imagine Russia and North Korea. Or Nazi Germany for that matter.
MAGA Nazi's ideal government is meant to take lives. And they will.
And the only viable alternative is to fight them for our lives.

If this didn't have such obvious, dire consequences for basically everyone, I would be fully onboard with this. Let the idiot nutjobs form communities away from the vaccinated and allow viruses to burn through them. Sure many of them will die, and many of those who don't will be disfigured, paralyzed and/or mentally disabled. But the remaining few or one or none who come through unscathed will have that pure all-natural herd immunity. It will all have been worth it for them. Or him. Or at a minimum the new people who move in and claim all the dead people's stuff.

Unfortunately, this is going to fuck over everyone.

If eventually most Republican voters reject the entire idea of medical science in favor of woo woo bullshit and quacks we'll really be cooking with gas.

There's nothing you can catch due to not being vaccinated that can't be fixed by the appropriate combination of prayer, ivermectin, chiropractic, applied kinesiology, and if you die, well, that was just the Lord calling you home.

If Republicans stop using the health care system it should get cheaper and more available for the rest of us, right? If Republicans want to self segregate into their own enclaves and eschew modernity it might be a win for society.

The Republican Party is a death cult and they ought to get on with it.

Another reason to not visit Florida.
I will be forever and through eternity using this example for my vetoing every and any family vacation to that shithole.

I have zero qualms about guilt tripping my wife, daughter, or MIL into not traveling to a location that could possibly infect or kill me, the three-year-old, or any one of them because of our compromised immune systems.

Florida will become the birthing ground for any and all future pandemics the nation will have to suffer through. In this regard, isolating Florida the moment they pass this idiotic unnecessary killing of their populace is warranted. Can't imagine this will pass into law, but with Kennedy at the helm breeding Karens by the thousands nationwide, odds are other GOP controlled states will follow suit. Killing off their own constituents is political suicide and you'd think they'd realize that, but oh well...

The FL Surgeon General's main concern, I figure, is his job.

It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends upon his not understanding it. - Upton Sinclair

Why don't the people in Florida save time and start beating themselves on their heads with a big rock. That will cure a lot.

Righties are so fucking stupid and heartless they are willing to let their kids get sick and possibly die just to prove a point.

We should immediately move to allow insurance companies not to pay for anyone who catches a disease that refused the vaccination.

If you think he's bad, you should see his batshit insane wife:

Oh, and she's got a book out too.
"Brianna Ladapo is an intuitive spiritual healer, movement therapist, and teacher. She has a master’s degree in English from Harvard University, and has studied traditional naturopathy, plant and herbal medicine, and shamanism. She lives in Florida with her husband and three boys, where she works with nonprofit organizations to heal trafficked and exploited children."

Unfortunately not. They'll still be using it, but it will be in high price, emergency/hospital settings when they eventually get ridiculously sick from preventable diseases. That will have the opposite effect and drive healthcare prices higher.

But hey, I'm sure the health insurance companies have been jealous of home insurance companies raising their rates 200% in FL, now they can do it too!

I thought it was for all vaccines but apparently not. I guess that is better than all of them but still crazy.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/sep/07/florida-vaccine-mandates

The new policy end's mandates for vaccination against hepatitis B, chicken pox, influenza, and meningitis.
All other vaccination requirements required under Florida law to attend school remain in place unless changed through legislation. This includes vaccines for measles, polio, diphtheria, pertussis, mumps and tetanus.

I assume he did what he could through policy and the other ones are actually part of state law, which is why he said he would work with the legislature to end all mandates. So the crazy train is still rolling.
