Uhh, hello?
There is a national shortage of testing kits. Supplies of them are dwindling and MANY localities are telling people to not get tested unless you have symptoms now. Called preserving what little stock you have left in hopes that more will arrive before you run out entirely.

Uhh, hello? Have you been aware of any of DeSantis's previous Covid actions? I don't believe he gave a moment's thought to any national shortage of testing kits and gave 100% of his thoughts to the optics of Florida's current miserable Covid standing and ways to change that so he looks better.

Uhh, hello? Have you been aware of any of that poster's previous comments? Republicans could hold him and his family at gun point and force them to give blow jobs and he'd be snarfling comments about how Democrats would do this to them if they get power so he's glad to have the Republicans force them to do it. He actively welcomes fascism from Republicans to justify his hatred of Democrats because that's something that makes sense in his broken brain.

He's not stupid, he has degrees from Harvard and Yale. He's evil.

I agree with you, but keep in mind people like Dubya went to Harvard and Yale too. Brains and achievements are just the preferred prerequisites, but often play second fiddle to cash and dad's connections.

Ahh, what feralkid said.

Never forget networking and your Daddies Alma Mater payments. It would be interesting to see if he got a minority scholarship.

But nothing even remotely like what we are discussing here.

No, but when the 1918 Flu was winding down they did. 100 years from now I doubt we will be testing to the extent we do today for COVID, or what ever it’s called by then. This the typical coronavirus path - pandemic, mutation, stabilization and common seasonally from then on.

That's future President Desantis to you!

And I've already apologized for being in the state for foisting people like Rick "should be in jail" Scott and Marco "water bottle" Rubio, got none left for this boob.

I honestly don't give a shit what he does at this point. He's not the cause for any of his idiocy, he's just a manifestation of the ignorance of the red parts of the state. It won't be easy to leave as I have business stuff here and family but I'm hoping to get out in a couple years. I know there are people around the countrywho see Desantis and the attitudes that make him possible and say "gimme that!" and are moving here, so no net loss I guess. Most of my extended family and their circles in MN and WI are pretty jealous of us in FL, they think he's got the "right stuff" :) Needless to say I don't talk much with any of them.

People get the government they deserve for the most part.

Thanks for saying what a fellow Floridian says to anyone who will listen.

My mother is choosing an icy New England winter over returning to Florida. And she's got arthritis. Vaccinated, boosted, but wants nothing to do with Florida's ~40% infection rate (and climbing). She's just disgusted.

If you live somewhere in the States where hospitals aren't near breaking point, good for you - now stay there. Just write off the rest of January, weather sucks anyway. Help the medical community keep their slog through hell to a minimum, remember regardless of what's happening with covid, people still get into car accidents, have them strokes and hardy tax.

We need to keep those who actually believe in what state government can do in the state. We have to counteract this stupid, hate, agenda ridden politics of this state. Only way to do that is stay and vote. I call this place a 3rd World place, but plan on staying as I feel the need to counter the minions of stupidity that seem to be everywhere. I find it amazing that retirees here elected a governor, and then compounded the error by electing them as senator, a guy who ran the biggest Medicare fraud operation that CMS has ever had. Keep your hands off my Medicare is only for libtards since they willingly like the rich, fraud, wannabe guy. Oh yeah they love Trumpy Dumpy too. I see a pattern here.

One can be intellectually brilliant and alive or emotionally dead. I think that was clear looking at Einstein vs Teller.

Most of the deadly cases will be among those who voted for him.

I take a lot of flack from some here who say I have the problem because I see in humanity a death wish.
If the situation in Florida get out of hand enough, rest assured that DeSantis will be replaced by a Democrat.

I don't think Bush was stupid either, just not too quick witted. Don't get me wrong, there are genuinely stupid politicians like Rick Perry for instance. But DeathSantis isn't one of them.

Well stop kidding yourself, Dubya is stupid. His professors said as much, his mother said as much, he never asked questions and did everything he could to avoid having to give real answers. It's why you've never heard him speak knowledgeably about any topic, why his post pres life involves painting instead of a university or further diplomatic career. Bush is an example of a moron who knows he's a moron. Trump is a moron who thinks he's a genius. DeSantis is a shrewd guy who wouldn't be in politics if his alma maters were true indications of his intellect, IMO.

Seems here is another example of the extreme intelligence of Governor DeathSantis.
