Fking DS3L cold boot...

My PC was on when we had a blackout during the middle of the night (who knows how many times the electricity went on and off).

I woke up and my PC wouldn't boot. Before going to bed last night, I cleared CMOS, took the battery out, and put the battery back in this morning but again, my PC would not boot. It would turn on, fans would spin, video card fan goes in high mode but nothing happens. Just a black screen forever.

I remember having this before but usually after turnin the PC on and off 30 times, it would magically boot into Windows. What should I do now?

Unplug it, discharge the caps by pressing the power button a couple times, wait a minute, plug it in and see if it boots. You can test with 1 stick of ram at a time to see if any got fried. You are using a power conditioner like a surge protector right?

Forgot to update my sig, but I've had a Corsair HX620 since December 2007. Supposedly one of the best PSUs. I also have a APC Surge Protector.

Thing is 2-3 DS3Ls already "died" within 1yr or so so it could be the PSU, but there's no way of telling. I tried this PSU on my friend's PC and it ran fine.

Suggestion for the future: Purchase a UPS.

Office Depot has a bunch of them on clearance right now, I picked up three 1200VA Ativa brand ones for $75 ea. They were a year old already by way of the battery test slip though.
