Fixing up a Windows 10 install

I have a bit of a problem. I had an unused PC with Windows 10 already installed, and decided to give it to my father so he would finally retire his Windows XP PC. The problem is it now has about 3 user accounts on it and you know how integrated the user account is on Windows 10.

I need to do two things: 1) automatically log in without asking for a password on startup, and 2) remove the multiple accounts.

The problem with the first is that even though I unchecked a setting that requires a password on startup. I think it's because account #2 is the default, and I can't change it.

Is it possible to remove the accounts without having to nuke this thing and start all over again? I have looked this up already and tried everything they said but no luck.

To set up auto login:

Open an elevated command prompt (type command in the box then right click and choose "run as administrator"

Then type "control userpasswords2"

It will prompt you for the username and password you want to use with that computer.

You can still go into the old control panel "control panel" in the box, and go to user settings and delete undesired user accounts.

All admins I'm afraid.

With you logged into the original admin account you created during Windows 10 install/setup, if you:

Right click on start - Control Panel - User Accounts

are you able to remove user or change the account type to standard user and then delete them?

If all else fails, since you are giving the computer away anyway, just wipe the drive and install a fresh copy of Windows, set up the way you want.

Problem solved. I switched to a local account and that issue went away. Thanks for the advice.
