Fixing FAT tables

A recent Win9x version of SCANDISK with support for FAT32 would be a good start. There are other, more powerful tools, like Norton Disk Doctor and Powerquest Lost & Found, but SCANDISK is probably the easiest one to get your hands on.

One suggestion: if the data is crucial to you, make a Ghost image of the entire drive before you start any recovery process. Sometimes, FAT repair tools cause more harm than good, so it's nice to be able to revert the the drive to its original state.
