Fixing bugs in STALKER: CoP?

I just started playing this game and encountered an irritating bug. I need to get poisonous gas (early quest this cant possibly be a spoiler), but i need TWO keys to open the container. I have ONE and from the recovered documents and everything i have read on the intarwebs i should have the other, but its not there (jeep ON the bridge). Clearly a bug. I would like to "add" this key to my inventory so i can finish this quest. Any thoughts? If this entire game is this buggy, i suspect i may have made a bad purchasing decision. I have a 460 and wanted a DX11 game (i have Dirt2, but there is no discernible difference between DX9 and DX11).

Yeh, those games are not polished and are very buggy. I am waiting for CoP Complete to be finished and released before I play it, bought it on sale on steam not long ago.

Love SoC, disliked CS.

I played through CoP a few months ago and only had one major bug/issue that I can recall... with the very last mission in the game a trigger didn't fire correctly so the game didn't end as it should. Reloading a save worked fine.

It was when you're supposed to be boarding the choppers at the end. The soldiers with me just stayed at the edge of the landing area and wouldn't move in to the helos.

That one caused me to look for hints as well, first time through.

This is not a bug at all, you're just looking in the wrong place.

I found the gas canister all by myself through exploration even before I triggered the mission for it.

We ALL have our "great" moments during games.

I, for instance, suck at Starcraft 2 multiplayer, and how I wish that I didn't ;P

No shame in it. I made a similar mistake. Bought new pc, wanted a dx11 game and saw CoP in alot of benchmark and just bought it. Well, wasn't really my type of game. In a shooter I want to shoot and not walk around a huge Map looking for stuff and getting sick because of the stuttering and head bobing.
