Personally, I never heard of the video card itself causing a ghost image, although, I would not say it could not happen. Usually, a ghost image is caused by the video cable or connections. Some other things you could try are: use a BNC cable if your monitor has connections for it, try a different refresh rate and tweak the monitor adjustments for convergence and moire. What you have is a Radeon 9700 NON-Pro.
I don't know if you can claim he mis sold by saying it was a 9700Pro, since it's quite clearly a 9700 non-pro from the clock speeds.
But the 9700Pro is 325/620, the 9700 non-pro is 275/540 (what you have)

I'm pretty sure the 9700 aren't 3 years old yet so it's automatically under warranty if the warranty is 3 years. As long as it's in the time frame, they don't even need you to verify your purchase. That's what I did with my GF2 a long time ago. I just called them up and got an RMA number and sent them the card and received a new card in like 2 weeks.
