Fixing a Radeon 9700 pro?

Does anyone know how to fix a Radeon 9700 Pro that has ghostly images? I didn't check the descroption for an ebay listing, and now i'm stuck. Really need help, because have no clue where to start...Please, i need your help...:(

Personally, I never heard of the video card itself causing a ghost image, although, I would not say it could not happen. Usually, a ghost image is caused by the video cable or connections. Some other things you could try are: use a BNC cable if your monitor has connections for it, try a different refresh rate and tweak the monitor adjustments for convergence and moire. This might or might not help. Good luck!

here is the listing...idk, maybe it'll tell u guys something....check the descritption, something i should have checked before buying the card and getting myself into the mess.

What you have is a Radeon 9700 NON-Pro.
I don't know if you can claim he mis sold by saying it was a 9700Pro, since it's quite clearly a 9700 non-pro from the clock speeds.
But the 9700Pro is 325/620, the 9700 non-pro is 275/540 (what you have)

holy he11! thanks! i just sent him an email stating that it was a mis-sale, and not a pro. I'm waiting for a reply....will post it when it comes.

and he can't speak english. and he's named elvin. o_O thats just a weird turnoff right there.

hrm, check if the RAM chips are hot.

If it's not the cable, just RMA it. Should still be under warranty. I'm not sure how long Radeon's warranty is, but they are usually like 3 years or lifetime warranty. I'm pretty sure the 9700 aren't 3 years old yet so it's automatically under warranty if the warranty is 3 years. As long as it's in the time frame, they don't even need you to verify your purchase. That's what I did with my GF2 a long time ago. I just called them up and got an RMA number and sent them the card and received a new card in like 2 weeks.

A real crap deal! However, you might come out the winner. As KZA said above, you might be able to RMA it back to ATi. Here is the best part; if they don't have another 9700 to replace it with, they just might sent you a 9800np or pro. Go to the ATI site and try to register your cards serial number for its 3 year warranty; that's how I recently registered my new 9800np. You could end up having the last laugh!
