Fixing a damaged Real Video File?

I have a real video file that is really messed up. It has many (over 20) damaged spots where the video would just pause and the audio goes on. Is there any program that I can use to fix this file? I don't care if it drops some frames, I just want to get rid of the annoying pauses.
