Fixing a damaged plastic bumper; where to get supplies?

I have a '96 Toyota Corolla.

A nice little square of the plastic got punched back into the bumper. So we used a heat gun to loosen it up, then pulled it back out with a coat hanger. Applied some sort of Bondo (?) around it, voila!

Now I need to:

1) dry sand to get the surface free of debris
2) wet sand to make the surface "even"
3) Use plastic primer
4) Then paint for plastic
5) Then put a clear coat on

My questions:

a) Is there a better place to get this stuff than AutoZone, etc.?
b) The touch-up paint I need is "Sunfire Red Pearl". Don't wanna buy from Toyota; there has to be a cheaper place. Thanks.

I usually buy my stuff at rockauto.com ... they are a lot cheaper than autozone, but be warned, they do charge a pretty penny for shipping. They do sell literally everything but not sure if they sell body stuff. Might wanna head over there and check it out to see if they have what you're looking for.

I think for paint stuff though, you're probably better off just buying it locally. If you buy it online, you won't really know what the color looks like.

If you can tolerate slower shipping, try autozone's 'ship to home' option with whatever coupon they're running, and they're always running one. Usually something like 15%-25% off with free shipping. Rockauto rarely comes out cheaper if you can be patient.

Try amazon for the supplies too. Use the PNs you find in autozone's or rockatuo's database.

A problem with a 15+ year old car is the paint will have aged/faded. When putting on the original color, the location will stand out against the rest of the bumper.

You are better taking a chip to a local auto paint shop and see if they can blend up a color for you.

That way will be more expensive; but a better chance to match.

It is your call as to quality and price
