I searched the forums. I searched the internet. I read everything at Acer. None of the suggestions worked for me. Here is the deal.
I recently bought an Acer Aspire One A0531h (ZG8) with 3G built-in. When I first got it it had Win7 Starter without SP1 and Bluetooth worked. That is when I turned on the computer the Bluetooth indication on the palm rest stayed lit and the Bluetooth icon in the system tray indicated that Bluetooth was active.
SP1 was then applied. On reboot the Bluetooth indication on the palm rest comes on but just when Windows 7 starts to load the light goes off. When the computer loads windows there is no indication of Bluetooth being present. I've tried everything to get it back.
1. No BIOS option to enable/disable Bluetooth.
2. No physical switch that I can find on the computer or mentioned in documentation.
3. I uninstalled all Bluetooth software and drivers and tried to reinstall it. The installer bombs out saying that I need to turn on the Bluetooth device.
The fact that the Bluetooth indication on the palm rest turns on after POST and turns off when Windows tries to load leads me to think that this is a Windows issue. Any ideas? Thanks a lot for the help.
