FIXED

In my infinite wisdom, I did not uninstall my nvidia drivers from XP before I removed and sold my 6600GT. Now when I plug in my 6800 Ultra or my old FX5600, I get instant BSOD in windows, even in safe mode and VGA mode. How can I fix this without an OS re-install? Can it be done throught the recovery console? If so, how?

I'm dying!

Even in safe mode. The BSOD is too quick before the system reboots, so I can't read it.

The registry swap has been posted countless times here; basically you swap sam system software security files in c:\windows\repair with the one in c:\windows\system32\config (making a backup of what's in there first) which lets you boot, and then you can change files around at will.
