FIXED: Win7 does not respond - nevermind, RAM lost contact somehow?

Hey guys,

Posting from my wife's laptop; this is a new one, for me anyways. My XPS 15 L502 Laptop boots up fine, but Win7 does not respond to entries; It's bone-stock (i5-2410, 7200=RPM HDD, Nvidia 525 GT) with the exception of a RAM upgrade;

So, in effect, windows seems to boot up fine, but any entries/clicks that I make on the screen does not register; either with a USB-connected mouse, trackpad clicker, and even attempting to navigate by keyboard is futile. I do see the pointer moving to my command, but it's just not registering any of my clicks/other inputs.

I restarted the system multiple times and the same thing happens - but the keyboard reacts fine in the BIOS and pressing Win-E pulls up Explorer fine; so I'm thinking that it's definitely not a hardware issue (like HDD/RAM etc.) but rather software; I do have microsoft security essentials running on my system and outside of Steam I can't think of any changes I've recently made to the system outside of installing a game from the Indie Humble Bundle (Voxatron Alpha); any ideas?

UPDATE
Nevermind; as I was posting I noted that the system was actually responding to my inputs, just with a ~10 second delay. I replaced the RAM w/ my original ones and presto, they worked fine! I put in the upgraded RAM and once again, they worked fine! I guess they lost contact for some reason . . ..

UPDATE
Good god what is going on, my trackball's left clicker got stuck as I was posting my 1st update. I blame this topic forum for all this! Me inept? AlwaysNever!
