FIXED: Why can't I see the video in Media Player or ATI Player on the TV? (9700 Pro AIW)

 I can see everything else on the TV while the clip is playing, taskbar, media player window, everything except for the actual clip itself. The included ATI player does the same thing. This happens windowed or full screen. What am I doing wrong?

BTW, it's connected AIW via composite to the VCR, VCR via RF to the TV. Like I said, I can see everything else on the TV including games.

While I'm at it: When I use Studio 8se to capture video, the playback is like 2X fast. What am I doing wrong here?

I'm new to all this capturing stuff so forgive the stupid questions.

The problem is likely that you are playing back copyrighted material through a VCR. This is often blocked somehow to prevent people from copying video. Try plugging the video card directly into the TV and see if that helps.

Nah. This is video that I captured from my dish. I run the dish through the same VCR all the time.

I can view the playback on the monitor fine. I'm not sure how the rest of my video signal can get through to the TV, just not the video playback using either player. I'm stumped.

My TV is older (and cheap) and only has RF in so I have to go through the VCR.

Maybe try making the TV the primary display while watching video.

Try playing a avi or mpeg that you have on your computer and see if it shows up on the TV. If it does, I would say that your dish has a copy protection thing on it so it will not go from your comp to vcr to tv. If it doesnt, your video card may have some sort of overlay issues. I know most cards cannot play video on a second monitor if it is set up because of that.

Nope, that wasn't it. I'll look into the overlay issues.

Under the overlay tab there was a button for clone mode options. I chose theater mode and that got me the video on my TV and on my monitor simultanously.

Thanks for the help and suggestions.
