I dunno what happened! I was just experimenting with overclocking, and after happily discovering my pc's limits, i decided to go back to my original settings. And - BAM! Dead screen. I thought: what the f? becasue it was impossible for it to die after downclocking the ram to its original settings!!! Really, really odd. Concidering the fact i've done the same thing before. I clear CMOS - pc strats up, everything ok. The only thing it says after post - "Checksum error", and F1 to continue. I continue, os loads fine. Heck everything works like it shoiuld. Only slower, at 100mhz speed. Dare i increase the speed to stock, at optimal everything - same thing, but this time (cuz i forgot to diable POST speech reporter) it says something about bad ram. I clear cmos and go back to 100mhz just fine! Please advise!
Thank u!

BIOS: interesting. What are the odds of that happening? Cuz the ram works FINE in 100mhz setting, even scored 3500 CPU, and 3300 ram.

games work too. But what the heck is going on?! BIOS looks likable - cuz i dont see a way why my ram might be dead - it works, at 100mhz, unfortunately, but it does. Goodness.

ram/mobo u see below.
Everything (according to CpuId) is at 100mhz, FSB, memory...Multiplier 12.5x, as is set by BIOS default. If im to enter BIOS - without making changes - everything goes back to the black-screen whether i save and exit, or just exit. Really, really odd.

Thanks yall. I knew it was BIOS! Cuz if the memory is dead, it wont work at all, mine, however, worked fine at 100mhz. So i flashed the BIOS, now everything is fine. THe new bios even solved the rolling lines at starup (cant see how they are related).
I have NO IDEA whatsoever how the BIOS got corrupted! Never happened to me, or anybody i know. Though my computer started behaving funky after i d/l 3dmark 2003 from guru 3d. Weird files started to appear, like "wwefe6w3aa3ûàâûóâûô.fff" or such. Also, my dvd drivestarted failing, and crashing. I flashed the bios, reformatted the drive, did a clean install. Everything works fine...except for the 3d mark 03 that i backed up on the cd! Its corrupted. A pox on that CD, thank God the music mp3 werent affected (except for 2 tower of power songs). Virus! First time in my life! and i got the "good" kind - that screwed with my bios. A pox on guru3d.com
thanks yall!

Nforce2 boards bios are famous for corrupting themselves when you save changes like when you are overclocking. The rule of thumb on the 2 different nforce2 boards i have used is to take it slow and only change 1 or 2 things in the bios at a time between saves. It is a pain in a** but it beats a dead bios. I wouldn't be in any hurry to lay the blame on a virus. Looks like the typical nforce2 bios corruption issue. Your lucky it wasn't completely dead and you could reflash it.
