*FIXED* SCSI/RAID and IDE channel conflicts...

8kha+ IDE conflict with SCSI/RAID controller, help?
Ok basically I know of a conflict between my Primary and Secondary IDE controllers and 2 SCSI/RAID Controllers. I am not sure when it happened at all, just happened to open Device Manager last night.

This is a screen capture of what it looks like in Device manager. I can disable and delete one of the SCSI/RIAD but not the other. I just downloaded the latest 4in1's from epox (4.36a I think) and that didn't help anything.

The only time I notice a serious problem is playing Everquest when I exit out I get a BSOD that refers to IRQ problems and ALCXWDM.sys Any ideas on what to do?

PS- and no I am not running any kind of RAID setup. Just 1 HDD.

There's no ! on the RAID drivers, why do you think they're involved?

Those might help.. whats listed under the properties.

Oh and when I remove the one SCSI/RAID controller that I can, upon reboot it "Finds New Hardware" and adds it back.

See if you can change the I/O range of the SCSI controller in it's BIOS.

You cannot share IRQ's with onboard IDE controlers (add on Highpoint and Promise dont cound because there added into the PCI loop)
Onboard IDE controllers are not real PCI devices and most of the time want IRQ's 14 and 15, If your SCSI/raid controlers aquire these your IDE will have problems, You may want to assign if you can IRQ's for the SCSI/RAID PCI slots.

Im always going through this crap when ether new MB or bios update.
It would be so much better if MB mfg's would get the IDE controler off the S.Bridge and onto the real PCI buss where it should be, But I guess that would lead to having Multi bios setting confusing the non-power owners.

I have 3 on my Epox 8KTA3, Main bios, Hipoint IDE Raid (built in) and my Adaptec 29160 scsi controler.

check his specs guys, no scsi card, I suggest you just go into device manager and disable the one that you are able to delete.

Well using the miraculous google.com i was able to find a post from some other forum site where a guy had identical problems (and pretty much same hardware) and At the end he said he got it to work. Well to make a long story short the problem was fixed by simply re-installing windows xp over top the existing. Everything runs peachy now (and more importantly Everquest doesn't crash anymore =P ). Just thought I'd post this inc ase anyone else ahs this problems. Oh and Daishan was right... I have no SCSI or RAID on my PC.
