Dang System Restore, causes too many problems.
After much trial and error, some good ol DOS and some thorough scandisking i was able to get rid of the problem. yet the _restore directory is created way too often, even with the option disabled. i don't get it.
Thanks for the help though,

Please help... i've run into similar situations before, but this one's got me beat. I hate Win ME system restore and always have had it disabled, yet i just reform. and reinst. windows so when i started over, i had to disable it again. I did this, yet the _restore folder continued to be there (even though i couldn't see it in explorer. i see it in CuteFTP, and then can manually go to it in explorer.) and continued to grow until i noticed the severe drop in free space. Now there's a folder called "" and one called "_" and the first has a heart-type symbol in DOS and the other is not visible in anything else. I can't delete them, can't rename them, but can move them around. I had tried re-enabling restore in the hopes it would do something, but it didn't. Oh, when i try to go to those folders it says .... is not accesible, the path is invalid. Or when i try to delete it it says ... cannot find the file... I'm stumped and i need the space back,
