Trying to fix a computer that has been sitting on the floor for 6 months, last time I tried to fix it, it was on ly a software problem (windows needed to be reinstalled but didnt have the cd until now) and now when I plug it all up, it wont even start. No fan, no lights, nothing. I figure it might be the PSU because it came bundled with the computer case and it was real cheap so I bought a good PSU off newegg, install it and still nothing. I look at the power switch on top and notice the wires are pulled off (real cheap case that has the power button attached to a handle). So I dont know how to repair the wires that are connected to the power switch but the reset switch is intact. I trace it back to the mobo and switch the power wires with the reset wires and try to turn it on and still nothing. I have no clue where to go next. The computer was built by me like 7 months ago (Amd sempron) and everything worked good for a month, all the wires are
connected right (double checked everything) and still nothing. Now I dont have a light button on my motherboard to make sure there is power going to the motherboard but it is a brand new PSU and I still have the old PSU which I dont think is even broken.
I looked on the net and it says check if mobo is grounded correctly or installed correctly and I am wondering it worked good 7 months ago, it can't be mobo. I read the battery on mobo could be drained and it might not start but shouldn't the fan's turn on the PSU or on the CPU fan? Should I replace battery, any ideas, what should I check next? Should fans work even though battery is drained or something?
I found the case on newegg.com, a lot of ppl say that the PSU dies after a week/month/year but I bought the new psu..

*Update
I hooked the PSU up to the mobo and hard drive & floppy (tried it w/o floppy and didnt work), turned it on and cpu fan starts and now PSU starts, but I dont hear it booting up meaning the HD..
*Update
ok finally booting up now, working fine reinstall windows, the only thing i did differently i think was take battery out of mobo and wait 30 secs and plug it back in and it came back on, and also the dvdrom was plugged in and i wouldnt turn on until i took it out..
