I think i got rid of my indoor ant problem for the season

every year for the past 10years, i've had small little black ants in my 2nd floor house. no idea how they got there. there arent any on the 1st floor or basement. i tried Terro ant killer. the ants drank it like water. :eek: :( then for several years tried pure borax, borax/sugar...

now for my gnat problem:
for a decade, there's been 1 or 2 gnats in my computer room in my house for over a decade.
in the rare times i kill 1, there's another one a few weeks later.

It's always been 1 gnat flying around including the times when i dont kill one.
that got me thinking why so little gnats over a decade.
if they've been here for that long, shouldnt they have reproduced into a swarm by now?

Any easy way to figure out where the nest is?

Heh, so I think the common answer given is to get a small cup or bowl, pit in some red wine vinegar (I think?) Along with a drop of fish soap. Put saran wrap over it and poke some holes in it.

I've never had much luck with that. Maybe get 1 or 2 over a long period of time.

What did work for me though? Not finishing one of my heavy stout beers. Ill leave the glass on my computer desk with some still left in it and I looked in the next morning and it had 3 of them in there... And I wasn't even trying heh.

So give beer a shot? Not sure if it's certain brew types or not though.
