Ok, to see how my story starts see this
thread.
A friend refered me to a good "solder-er" and he soldered my broken cap right back on.

Instalation:
Easy as pie. Good instructions, not very many steps.

Looks:
I think it looks great; espically compared to the lame, geeky reference 6800 GT cooler. Kind of industrial.

Cost:
$35 at ZZF. (Buy from ZZF more often they always have FREE 2-day shipping!)

Performance:
Ah, the part we have all been waiting for. Here are the numbers:
Stock cooler with AS5 applied (yes, the AS5 has had a few weeks to "set"):
Idle temp: 49C
Load temp: 79C
Max OC: 405/1100
VF-700 Cu with a brand new coat of ASC:
Idle temp: 42C
Load temp: It kind of flucuates, but it RARELY goes above 60C; even with RTHDRIBL. Ranges from 55C to 59C
Max OC: I'm running ATI Tool right now at 430/1100 and its been going for 11:30 with not one error. I'm speachless. I tried even a voltmod with my stock cooler and it did nothing for my OC.

I can't really rate quiet-ness, but I have it plugged in to the 12v line (normal operation, other choice is 5v) and I can't hear it. Other reviews have said even with 12v it is completly silent from ~2 feet away from the case., and it IS completely and totally silent with 5v.

Overall: 10/10 Perfect product. Great price, good looks, easy instalation, EXCELENT performance!!!
Must buy!!

Bottom line: Don't be afraid to purchase a Zalman product because "they are ment for a quiet system, not for overclockers". Totally un-true, as you can see the performance is amazing. A ~20C drop in load temps, and a 7C drop in an already low idle temp.

I like my AlCu. I think the Cu version is too heavy. If I OC my card, I might consider running a slot cooler in low voltage below the card to get the warm air out

I don't think the Cu is that heavy. Don't see why it matters really, it diffenately won't hurt your card any. It has 3-5C lower temps than the AlCu also.

Update: I flashed my bios to Thugsrook's lovely GTU bios and my idle temp is 41C and the load is 60-62C. Now, for reference, with stock cooling I was getting load temps of 85-95C!!!!
I'll be back later with max oc results.

ran atitool last night, no errors at 428/1.15. theres proof right there that the ram cooling is diffenately sufficent; i couldnt get above 1100MHz before!
looks like my core is about maxed at 428MHz. maybe i'll try turning off fastwrites to see if i can get the core speed up any more.

Nice heatsink but I belive the NV Silencer cools the card better.

EDIT: I hope you know your one lucky dude for geting that card fixed.

it cant be any heavier than the solid brick of copper leadtek put on my card.

i really want one of these...itll match my CNPS7000Cu too, but the leadtek cooler isnt all that good IMO, load temps get up to around 70-75 with that HDR demo thingy, and you hear the little fan sucking air through the little meshed grill, the sound of rushing air is actually worse than the fan noise

but it is still abit quieter that my friends stock 6800GT cooler
