dam vista security is tough, got it going, whole new experience.

You'll learn to appreciate it later, once you get used to it. Here is a link from Ed Bott on ZDNet on how to tame UAC a little and how to properly set up a limited user and Admin account to be a lot less annoying and yet still very secure.

Fixing Windows Vista, Part 2: Taming UAC

Edit:

If you continue to have some network issues and have Zone Alarm installed, remove ZA and use the default Vista Firewall along with a hardware firewall built into a router. ZA gave me nothing but connectivity fits on Vista.

If that is not the issue try right clicking on the network icon on the taskbar and select Diagnose and repair.

thanks, i got it sorted out, vista installed with limited functions but i was able to get to the admin account and sort it out.

i did create a strong password on admin, will have lots of questions to come up though.

its fast ill give it that.

would rather not install lots of programs i really wont need, i am behind a router with firewall and vista's firewall.

what i would like to find is a really good CD/DVD burner application that can do 'On the Fly Burning' i had nero 6 ultra and it worked well, dont even mind paying 'but' i will need to back up my DVD collection i am building
