*FIXED* Maxtor 250GB firewire drive gives error

it says "out of disk space" when i try to copy a 17GB file from my other hard drives to this new hard drive. I dunno whats wrong, anyone have any kinda clue?

UPDATE: Thanks to Pariah, I reformatted it in NTFS and the copy works now. Thanks a bunch dude!!

Did you format it with FAT32? FAT32 can't have files larger than 2GB or 4GB depending on the application.

hmm, it is fat32 but i just copied over a 4GB file........... okay i'll reformat it to NTFS and see if that works. Thanks for the tip.
