might be but a coupe of the Audi S4 would be pretty damn sweet.
I wish they come out with the S3 as well.. I love that car.
If they came out with it I'd trade in the IS300 in a heart beat.

Anyways, those dolts who carried out the test shouldn't have expected the S4 to be better. The S4 is heavier, has less power and has the understeering characteristics of AWD. The ONLY benefit that an AWD car would have, is powering out of a turn.

Because the M3 is a GT, and the RS6 is a sports sedan just like the S4 is. Plus the RS6 is a car generally considered in the same class as the M5, the E55, the XJR and S Type-R. It's a substantially more heavy car than the S4, and the M3.
The M3 really has no competitor in its class.

The Coupe Quattro that you refer to is powered by the N/A 7A. The Original Coupe Quattro, aka UR, had the 10VT I5 putting out about 160HP, but took well to modifications.
Here is the main problem I see with this comparison. Even before the test is done the editor is already bashing Audi and crowning the M3 king. He is driving both cars and favors the M3 more, obviously his opinions are biased and I'm sure that affects the performance numbers too. It's like changing that monster cable in your audio setup with the $3000 Audioquest. If you think it sounds better it will.
The performance difference is 3%, that's not a very large margin...IMO the conditions aren't even suited to take advantage of Quattro. It helps a little in wet conditions sure, but it's made for snow etc. Redo the test on snowy conditions and it's obvious the S4 will win.
In any case I would gladly take the S4 over the M3 because it is
1) A 4 door sedan and therefore more practical (IMO)
2) Quattro for snowy conditions
3) I am an Audi fanboy
