PLEASE read all before commenting, thanks:

My pc was working just fine. I use one pc to stream my kids games to their pc's, along with my kids movies so the can watch them at their pc and I dont have to worry about having them ruin any more of my cd's or dvd's. But then one day out of the blue, ALL my pc's when trying to get into the network rig ALL give the same error, as written above, no matter what, and 2 of my folders are in the window when you first hit "my network places", used to be all of them, and when you click on it it takes FOREVER till it will open the window, without any error, but its only two out of like 2 I was sharing. It used to be instant, you select a folder and bam you in, now for the 2 it shows, it literally takes 1-2 minutes before that folder will open.

I have removed netzone firewall.

I have turned on and off windows firewall

I have given windows firewall direct ok to the one pc next to me by putting its IP address in the exception for file and printer sharing

I have redone the net work with network wizard several times, even changed the network name to another on both pc's with no help

I have used the network wizard and turned off file sharing, restarted the pc, and then enabled file sharing again and it did not work

I have not installed any software in a VERY long time that would change any settings
I have no other firewall programs installed

I can access all the other pc's using the messed up one, or even from one other pc to the other, just the one with everything on it cannot be access from any other pc.

I can take files from the messed up rig and put them in the shared folders on all the other pc's on the network from the messed up rig

I have gone and run cmd and pinged all pc's through the messed up one and it see's every pc with a ping back

I have reset my router

I have swapped out my network cable from the pc to the router in thinking it bay have gone bad. WHY? Because I am running out of things that could be Im searching for way out stuff now to try.

I have googled and tried all the suggestions I can find that sound sorta like my problem, to no avail.

I AM AT MY WITS END!!!
I have no idea what is going on, it was working just fine, nothing has been done, or installed on this rid in a very long time, and this has just started out of the blue.

PLEASE SOMEONE tell me wth I am doing wrong and how to fix this, I need to get it going again asap!

I've had this problem a few times, and I've found it to be somewhat common; file sharing just mysteriously crapping out with no explanation and nothing will fix it, short of a reformat.

This below commands worked for me. Type them into the DOS command prompt.

Reset the TCP/IP and the WINSOCK
netsh int ip reset C:\reset.log
winsock - netsh winsock reset

If that doesn't work, try....

In the command prompt (type the first line twice)..
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew

You may need to rerun the network setup wizard after using these commands.

1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
2. Locate and then double-click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa
3. On the right side, double-click restrictanonymous.
4. Make sure that the value in the Value data box is set to 0, and then click OK.
5. Close Registry Editor.
6. Restart the computer.

Found this, and it was what fixed it, all back to normal. I just cannot think of what would of changed my reg files to do thsi though, I never installed anything, and did a complete virus and spyware check,a nd come up with nothing at all. So Im all :p:p:p

But its working, and now thats all that matters, just took me 5 hours to figure it out though

That Registry setting shouldn't even exist by default in Windows. It's likely that some third-party firewall software put it there. Comodo does it, for instance.
