*Fixed* Enemy Territory Lock Ups!

I am not sure whats goin on here, but its not cool and pissin me off. After upgrading my sys as of late, I just got the latest ET installed and configured, I can load up a map, and start to play, but within a min or 2 it locks up the comp, can't ctrl+alt+del, nothing but soft reboot. I clocked things back down to default vcard and cpu/memory.. It still is doing it, I figure there is some driver I may be missing? I'm using the 3.4 Cat's for the vcard.. and the latest set of drivers from nvida for the nf2 board.. (as far as i know) I don't know what I'm missing here..but I'd really like to play this game some more.

Mind you I have 0 problems what so ever w/ Everquest...so its kinda confusing.. Although EQ uses D3D I believe, and I'd guess ET uses OGL as its based off the Q3 engine, right??? Someone pls help.. Maybe I'll disable some goodies for OGL and give it a shot..

K, disabled AA and Ansi w/ no changes..still locking up.

i had probs locking up on my 8500 with the 3.4s

they also ruined my windows and my brothers to the point of needing a full reinstall (im certain it was these drivers)

not a problem with the 3.2s though, playing et for hours and not one crash, give them a try, shouldnt hurt anything anyway

i threw in the 3.5s and still gettin the same prob =\ i was able to run thru 3dmark03 and 01 w/o probs (locking or anything like that). i'm gunna install CS (another OGL game) and see how that works. I'm guessin I won't have probs.. =\

i installed and had no probs w/ HL/CS in open gl mode. so its hard for me to think its a 'hardware' conflict.. think its vcard drivers??? haven't tried the older ones yet.. man, nvidia's just work. =\ had 0 probs w/ my ti4200 drivers wise, got spoiled i guess.

The FIX

Enemy Territory crashes or freezes!

First be sure that your system meets the minimum system requirements.. Make sure that you have the latest video and sound card drivers available for your hardware from the manufacturer's websites. Close down any other programs you may have running prior to running the game.

If ET locks up shortly after joining a server you can try the following solution:

Before joining a server press the Tilde " ~ " key to bring the console down, then type in the following: /pb_system 1
