Fixed a broken pipe and the stove tonight

So I go to make some chicken nuggets (or `nugz` as I like to call 'em) tonight and for some reason the stove is set to "CLEAN" with the little lever thing sticking out. The lever won't budge. I ask my roommates if either of them have set the oven to clean for some reason, both answer with a negative. Hmmm, odd. So I go to get a screw driver from the washing room and ....

Lo and behold, a pipe is busted and is spewing water everywhere! I've been home for maybe 5 minutes and I detect this, yet my roommates, neither of which has left the house in 24+ hours (WoW), has noticed. I mention it to Keen, and he says "oh, yea, I guess the hot water pressure was a little low earlier." DUH YOU STUPID HEAD.

So I ask Keen to handle the oven while I turn off the water, get out the sand paper & blow torch and go to town on the pipes. I successfully repair the pipes, only to turn around to see that Keen has given up on the oven lever! WTF !? It takes me all of 2 minutes to get the oven fixed - utilizing the same screwdriver and butterknife he left there.

Is everybody in this world incompetent and expect things to fix themselves? Or rely on their pocketbook to solve all the problems in their life? WTF happened to the good ol' handyman?

Cliff's Notes
1. Fixed broken water pipe
2. I fix oven in < 2 minutes, while roommate had given up
3. WTF happened to competency?

Keen's first name is Matt, and he is a male. Everybody out there knows 2309829387 "Matt"s, and he has a unique and easy last name, so everybody calls him Keen. He's a really good Java programmer and is "good" at World of WarCraft, but that's about all I can give him when it comes to being a man.

I just can't believe they didn't notice the total lack of water pressure and zero hot water ... oh, and the sound of running water everywhere in the house.

Oh well, at least my nugz taste good.

Because nothing says manliness like programming and RPG skill.
