Fix scratches on LCD screen?

I have some fine scratches on the LCD screen of my laptop (an idiot went to point at my laptop screen with a mechanical pencil and scratched the screen).

I have heard something about kits that buff these scratches out? Are they safe and do they work? Where to buy?

ive never heard of it but heres abump for you...id like to know how to clean these things.im afraid of killing pixels!!
 
Have heard of people using a bit of clear candle wax on the scratch and
then buffing with a soft clean cloth. This was for CRT's, but it should work
for LCD's as well. Hope it wasn't a biggy right in the middle! 🙁
